Mono Men - Mystery Girl b/w Sin & Tonic (Estrus Records, 1994)

Thanks to Alexander for asking me back to do some more posts. I think I'll actually throw up some 45s this time and be warned: most of them will lean towards newer releases. Anyway, let's kick it off with this single from the Mono Men circa early 1990s garage rock revival. Purchased 2009 at Criminal Records (R.I.P.?) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Campy 1950s Halloween themed garage rock revival 10 inch. Purchased Summer 2010 at Joe's Record Paradise in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Man or Astro-Man? - "Is It...Man or Astro-Man?" (Estrus Records, 1993)

From the first (and best) Man or Astro-Man? record. I used a cut ("Clean-Up on Aisle #9") on this record as the theme for my college radio show on KWUR 90.3 FM. Purchased Fall 2010 from the band in Washington, DC - yeah, it's a repress.

Jack O' Fire - Punkin' (1994)

I have always maintained that there is no such thing as a Tim Kerr "complete-ist." Even Tim Kerr isn't one. The same, of course, can be said of Art Chantry. He designed this snappy little bugger. I love this Estrus release: gnarly little off-center ghouly that wobbles when you play the record, octagonal jack o' lantern sleeve AND (!!!) glow-in-the-dark vinyl.
