I found this 45 at a thrift store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It seems that if nothing else, the illustrator is between the ages of four and nine, and has a definite sense of how to create an exclamation point. I hadn't really started collecting records when I got this one, so maybe this was my great start.

  1. Whoa! These are crazy lookin. What's the audio content? Screaming pre-school children doing a rendition of The Beatles' Help? I wonder what's on the BUM BUM! side?

  2. When I bought it, the only record player that I had was a fisher price portable with a very loud motor. It's a kid's classic that sounds doubly terrifying when played on a dilapidated machine.

  3. Maybe the kid who owned this listened to it and was so scared by it that she wrote HELP! on the label.
